Still recovering from the Sox collapse over the weekend and that egg that the Bears laid against the Packers. I really expected the Bears to do to the Packers what they did to us especially after Ditka’s passing. They just didn’t look ready to play.
I saw Billy Preston on stage with Eric Clapton years ago. It was a great concert and we had great seats at what was called “the Mark” of the quad cities back then.
I am fascinated that I got to see ads from the Dem candidate running against LaHood - Paul Nolley - while watching football this weekend.
My brain cannot comprehend the notion of my GOP vote sink district being competitive in the slightest but God bless whoever is spending the serious $ to make worthless nepo baby Darin squirm.
Heading back East Chesapeake, VA) for my 50th High School Reunion (450 people graduated with me in the class of 76). I haven’t seen them in at least 40 years, so this should be interesting. Ms. H-W is not interested - she’s the OG Decatur sort. /s

Falcon Nine Rocket made an appearance in the South Eastern sky of Central Illinois this morning.
It was a bit of a surreal look.

Saw Billy Preston in concert in the early 1970’s in NJ. Great seats, great show, excellent musician.
Can I really be that old

Commenters long ago educated me about Billy Preston’s pedo past https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/billy-preston-history-of-sexual-abuse/
I failed to pass that along to Isabel. So this one is on me.
And Clapton’s blatant public racism and xenophobia led directly to the creation of Rock Against Racism https://racismnoway.com.au/teaching-resources/rock-against-racism/

Glad you cleared that up…lost all respect for both of these flawed musicians years ago.
