Poll: Rauner 7th most unpopular governor in the country

According to the firm, he’s more unpopular than Maine’s Paul LaPage, Wisconsin’s Scott Walker and Michigan’s Rick Snyder. * But here’s something interesting. Morning Consult released a poll last summer that was taken April 1 through July 10. Here are Rauner’s numbers…
So, he was still underwater back then, but he was doing significantly better than he is now. What changed? Well, do you remember what happened on July 10th, the last day of the poll? The governor began a purge of his administration by firing his chief of staff Richard Goldberg and bringing in people from the Illinois Policy Institute. By the time the next results were released in October, Rauner’s approval rating fell to 30 percent and his disapproval had risen to 55 percent. Pritzker poll also has Biss in second place

Pritzker is doing better in his poll than the We Ask America poll released yesterday and there are far fewer undecideds in this one. The Pritzker campaign has adamantly refused to publicly release or even comment on their polling data since Day One. So, this is an interesting development.
