Andrzejewski to Make Major Announcement

Tomorrow, March 19th, Businessman and Civic Advocate, Adam Andrzejewski will make a major announcement regarding the future of Illinois…

Andrzejewski is Founder of For the Good of Illinois- a nonprofit nationally leading transparency organization. Andrzejewski sought the 2010 GOP nomination for Governor of Illinois.

The Press Conference will also be live streamed.

You can view the Press Conference by going to the following link http://www.ustream.tv/channel/adam-andrzejewski-press-conference.

WHEN: Tuesday, March 19th at 11:00AM

WHERE: University Club of Chicago, Millennium Room, 76 E. Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60603

Note: The University Club requests that no jeans or tennis shoes be worn. Gentlemen need jackets.

Looking forward to seeing you!

Adam Andrzejewski
For The Good of Illinois | CEO

As subscribers have known for a while, Andrzejewski has been talking about running for state treasurer. If you’re going, gentlemen, don’t forget your jackets. Kind of a weird setting for a statewide announcement.

*** UPDATE *** Illinois Review

Andrzejewski, who founded and heads up the transparency group “For the Good of Illinois” was in Washington DC this week, but told Illinois Review that despite the DC meetings, he’s not contemplating a bid for Congress in 2014.

“I’ve been redistricted out of Judy Biggert’s old district, so I’m not running for Congress,” he said.

What about a statewide position then? “I’ve also already said that I’m not running for governor,” Andrzejewski said.

When asked about state comptroller or treasurer - something many speculate he would be interested in - he hesitated. “Well, there’s a problem there, neither Topinka nor Rutherford have officially announced their intentions for 2014,” he said.

Last week, Andrzejewski announced the formation of a federal version of “For the Good of Illinois” to pursue transparency in federal spending and the national budget. Whatever office Andrzejewski intends to pursue, it’s fairly certain open government will be a part of his campaign platform.

Well, it is a “Formal Announcement”.

Golf shirt and sport coat acceptable?

  2. - 47th Ward - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:00 pm:

A major announcement regarding the future of Illinois?

That’s one very large ego you have there Adam.

  3. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:04 pm:

Yeah, those teevee camera operators always carry around a blazer and wingtips just in case.

  4. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:08 pm:

===The University Club requests that no jeans or tennis shoes be worn.===

I like to consider myself a …”Man of the People …a ‘Simple Joe’ if you will …”

“I am NOT an elitist, but …”

“I want to be the type of Republican that everyone in Illinois … hey, get that drink off that table without a coaster!”

“This is not a Secret Society type of announcement, its just that some people might not be a part of it …”

“I am glad the ‘Sorting Hat’ brought you here to ‘Slytherin House’…”

“It would be unseemly to serve beer at 11 AM, so 12 Year-old Scotch and Brie Cheese is available for all the little people after I tell you how important I am.”

“I want to thank myself for making this possible…”

  5. - Anonymous - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:08 pm:

Oh jeez, here we go again.

  6. - Small Town Liberal - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:09 pm:

Darn, my jacket is at the dry cleaner, I guess I’ll have to miss it. With any luck someone will bring a chalkboard to my office and spend the morning scraping it with a stiff wire brush instead.

  7. - CircularFiringSquad - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:10 pm:

using the very blue collar U Club for the presser How “man of the people” of DoubleA
Make sure to check your diploma before trying to get in. Not U’s qualify. Hate to see you left at the curb if you are under degreed

  8. - Rich Miller - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:16 pm:

===“I want to thank myself for making this possible…” ===

    Bingo.

  9. - Jim - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:16 pm:

My, my — such a lot of preening about the club’s dress code for its members. I’d be willing to bet that any under-dressed photographer or reporter will be admitted.

  10. - wordslinger - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:18 pm:

What does his running for treasurer have to do with the future of Illinois?

  11. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:19 pm:

“My credentials are here, on loan, for everyone to look over …”

  12. - wordslinger - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:24 pm:

What’s the over/under on the number of times he says “forensic audit?” I say six.

  13. - Rich Miller - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:24 pm:

=== I’d be willing to bet that any under-dressed photographer or reporter will be admitted.===

I dunno about that. From the club’s website…

    Exceptions to the Dress Code

Formal dinner service (check with staff for location) for men requires, at a minimum, Business Casual attire with a sports jacket.

Weekday Millennium Park attendees in “smart casual” attire may enter the Club then should wait in the back vestibule by the west valet entrance while a staff member accommodates their needs.

Persons aged 12 or under are dress code exempt.

Certain Club events (i.e., New Year’s Day Open House) have a mandated dress code. Publication of the dress code for special events will be in the monthly member newsletter or on the website.

  14. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:25 pm:

    ===I say six.===

Oooohh, that may be low. without the “hook” I go over, but you get me at 6 1/2, that is a tough “take”

  15. - Rich Miller - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:26 pm:

“Forensic audit” is so 2010. He moved on after the auditor general eviscerated him.

  16. - Jim - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:27 pm:

Rich, they’re not there to eat dinner. The ink-stained wretches are there for a news conference.
    Let’s be realistic here.

  17. - walkinfool - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:28 pm:

Andry has yet another major news announcement?

    yawn

  18. - Norseman - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:28 pm:

One of those times I agree with 47.

  19. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:30 pm:

Maybe the over/under on “Transparency” at 7 1/2?

I like that number for “action”

  20. - Boone Logan Square - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:30 pm:

What’s the announcement? That he has a bomb and he’s going to use it?

That might have a lesser impact on the Illinois economy than him becoming treasurer.

  21. - shore - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:31 pm:

if he changed his last name to Andrews I think it would help.

Also think this guy is from kankakee I would assume this would mean something more humble but good luck to him!

  22. - Rich Miller - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:32 pm:

Jim, I called. They told me that as long as I didn’t wear gym shoes or athletic attire I’d be “fine.” Jackets apparently won’t be required.

  23. - Rich Miller - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:32 pm:

===Also think this guy is from kankakee===

    Herscher. Kankakee County.

  24. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:33 pm:

“This is bigger than just me, and that is saying something!”

  25. - Rich Miller - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:34 pm:

===if he changed his last name to Andrews I think it would help. ===

Disagree. Turns out, weird names are easier to remember.

  26. - LincolnLounger - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:36 pm:

He is tedious enough when not on the campaign trail. The concept of him running around as a formal candidate in a primary election contest fills me with dread.

  27. - wordslinger - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:36 pm:

–if he changed his last name to Andrews I think it would help.–

Shore, your Lake Forest is showing.

There are a few Illinoisans with Polish backgrounds.

  28. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:36 pm:

This man is a disgrace to the letters AA.

  29. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:37 pm:

    - AA -

I would never confuse you with the other “AA” and that is probably one of the best compliments I could give you, bud.

  30. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:40 pm:

“Adam, what’s your campaign song? ”

    “My Way”

  31. - Demoralized - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:41 pm:

==if he changed his last name to Andrews I think it would help. ==

    One word: Blagojevich

  32. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:41 pm:

Thanks a lot, Willy. That means a lot, man.

  33. - Demoralized - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:42 pm:

The future of Illinois? That’s not arrogant or anything.

  34. - OurMagician - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:43 pm:

I think he forgets sometimes that his Dad ran as a Democrat against George Ryan, partially with the elitist, out of touch theme. He’d be wise to remember it.

  35. - Just sayin - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:50 pm:

Anyone else catch that he used his c4 to make the announcement of this? Nothing says “transparency candidate” quite like a politician using funds that he doesn’t have to disclose.

  36. - Cincinnatus - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:52 pm:

    - Rich Miller - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:24 pm:

=== I’d be willing to bet that any under-dressed photographer or reporter will be admitted.===

Persons aged 12 or under are dress code exempt.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    This exemption oughta cover it.

  37. - Shore Obrien - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:53 pm:

Funny I talk about name changes when AA doesn’t have me on the pay roll . Wonder if Clarke has work for me ?

  38. - Skeeter - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:54 pm:

Hey, a bunch of us remember the last time we elected some obscure but loud guy with a name we couldn’t pronounce.

If he starts running adds saying “And - rej - ewski” we will all have to start working for his opponent.

In any case though, this seems like a lot of effort just to lose to whatever third rate hack the Dems toss at us.

  39. - Rich Miller - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 3:54 pm:

===Anyone else catch that he used his c4 to make the announcement of this?===

Yeah. If he does make a political announcement, that’s gonna sting.

  40. - Jake From Elwood - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:09 pm:

Wait, give the man some credit…he may be announcing that he is moving to frackin’ North Dakota.

  41. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:11 pm:

“I wanted to make available the most important person I know to explain … this was my only day I had free”

  42. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:13 pm:

    - AA -,

I am glad you KNOW that was not snark, but an honest compliment.

  43. - Knuckle Babies - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:15 pm:

Is he announcing that he is drolling over Rauner like the rest of his activists?

  44. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:15 pm:

Adam is nothing if not transparent, that’s for sure.

  45. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:18 pm:

Adam announces he would be available for a Rauner/Adam ticket.

Well, whatever they are short on, it wont be cash.

Adam taking a backseat to someone would be some news too.

  46. - Seriously - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:18 pm:

” it’s fairly certain that open government will be part of his campaign platform.” and it is completely certain that he will LOSE, what a goof

  47. - Northsider - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:24 pm:

    Who?

  48. - CircularFiringSquad - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:30 pm:

Hey here are few fun facts the newsiees could ask DoubleA about…..

According to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, 58 percent of Americans now think it should be legal for same-sex couples to get married. That is an astounding increase from a low of 32 percent less than a decade ago. And in another shift that is seen as directly related to support for equal rights, only 24 percent see homosexuality as a choice, compared to 40 percent almost 20 years ago.

It has long been obvious that support for marriage equality was higher among the young. But the numbers now demonstrate how truly rare it is for a young person to oppose gay marriage. Eighty-one percent of adults younger than 30 support marriage equality, compared to 44 percent of seniors. In both cases, that’s 10 points higher than it was in March 2011, showing how much support for gay marriage has soared in such a short time. Even though Democrats still back marriage equality far more than Republicans—72 percent versus 34 percent—both groups have seen increases in support since 2004, with 18 points for Republicans and 29 points among Democrats.

The poll also appears to demonstrate how Americans are seeing the issue of gay marriage as one of basic rights and fairness, with 64 percent saying its legality should be decided for all states based on the U.S. Constitution.

  49. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:39 pm:

Willy, if that were to happen, the campaign transport would have to be a “Zeppelin” in order to tote those egos at once.

  50. - Harry Wasko - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:40 pm:

His money helped run a good state Rep we had in our District out of office. Roger Eddy was a good man, this guy got his buddy, Brad Halbrook elected. Got no use for him or his kind.

  51. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:42 pm:

    - Arthur Andersen -,

Their egos would fight over who could be more humble, which would be such a treat to see…

“Being the most humble person I know …”

“I wouldn’t want this to seem like a brag, but humble is probably how I think others see me.”

    - AA -, you bring the popcorn, I will get “beverages”. Pack a lunch if it happens. (Won’t happen!)

  52. - madam of bracelets - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:43 pm:

Hasn’t his staffers been running around on the internet about starting a third party? Maybe he’s announcing the start of the Illinois Lemon Party

  53. - Shore - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:45 pm:

blago was a congressman running for governor, this guy is a nobody running for nothing yet. Andrzejewski is also harder to pronounce and spell. Plenty of politicians have gone with the name change. Hillary Clinton dropped the Rodham. It isn’t a lake forest move. It’s a practical move.

“I’ve been redistricted out of Judy Biggert’s old district, so I’m not running for Congress,” he said.”-that was pretty funny, I actually think the dccc would rather have him run against foster.

  54. - The Hinsdale Fap Brigade - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:49 pm:

AA is the sandwich chef of Illinois politics

  55. - John Ruskin - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 4:52 pm:

Looks like tomorrow at 11am the University Club is going to have an infestation of assgoblins.

  56. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 5:09 pm:

I hope there will be live-blogging of the event.

    Maybe Adam will have props/charts/pictures…

It won’t be brief, that’s for sure.

  57. - Just The Way It Is One - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 5:12 pm:

Wow–now there’s an announcement which should have a powerful impact on ALL of Illinoisans’ futures…that a guy who barely showed up on the radar for Governor 3 years ago is merely going to be one of the candidates in his Party for a slot charged with investing funds for a State which has no money? Sheesh!

  58. - railrat - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 5:41 pm:

the purist example of a “Luncpail Republican” omg the labor union behind the LPRs has to be proud huh ?

  59. - hisgirlfriday - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 6:32 pm:

Why can’t this state produce any female vanity candidates? If nothing else, it would at least give us a change of pace.

  60. - Cuban Pilot - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 6:51 pm:

Just when I thought Oswego Willy wouldn’t have anyone to kick around this election cycle, Adam A. Comes out straight from central casting.

  61. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 6:57 pm:

    - Cuban Pilot -,

My friend, there is always one in the wings who just can’t help themselves.

There are a couple in the the IL House and even the IL Senate, so never fear.

  62. - Conservative Veteran - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 7:03 pm:

If Sen. Dillard doesn’t run for re-election, I hope that Adam will run for the state senate. He would easily win, and he could win a higher office, in 2020 or ‘22.

  63. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 7:06 pm:

I dunno if my meds could handle Oberweis, McCarter AND Adam in the Senate…

  64. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 7:54 pm:

-I dunno if my meds could handle…-

Willy, I think a whole bunch of people would have that problem if those three were in the SREP Caucus at the same time.

  65. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 8:05 pm:

Adam replacing Dillard is as close as you can get to McSweeney replacing Beaubien in the House. Not quite as bad, but close.

    - AA -,

I know we would not be the only ones disappointed if the Party keeps this shift going - and shrinking in the meantime.

  66. - Conservaholic - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 8:13 pm:

Personally, I think everyone should take tomorrow afternoon off for the AA presser. Why? To play the AA drinking game!

1 shot for each time AA says “I”.
2 shots for each time AA says “transparency”.
Shotgun a beer each time AA talks about a beauty school getting $1 billion.

  67. - Old Milwaukee - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 8:27 pm:

When Adam A gets his butt kicked by some low profile Dem, does that mean he’ll stop giving out useless political advice?

  68. - Cuban Pilot - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 8:42 pm:

    OM,

I wouldn’t underestimate Andry. He is a fighter and is getting shrewder. In March madness terms, if Andry cuts the right deals, he will be a tough out.

  69. - Roadiepig - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 9:11 pm:

Maybe it’s because of the location for this “future of Illinois ” announcement, but I keep imagining AA’s supporters standing behind him will all look like variations of (the late great) Ted Kinght’s character Jusge Smails in Caddyshack. I could only hope Al Cezrvik shows up at press time

  70. - K3 - Monday, Mar 18, 13 @ 11:15 pm:

Wake me up when this guy actually *does* something. And he’s from Herscher not Kankakee big difference!

  71. - God's Country - Tuesday, Mar 19, 13 @ 9:03 am:

Pretty dang snooty……I hope is is not counting on So IL votes!
