Nationally, the best selling candy are @Skittles that are made by the Wrigley Co (a division of @MarsGlobal) in Yorkville. I toured it recently and every Skittle has 44 layers and they make enough skittles every day to line a path from Wisconsin to the southern Illinois border.
This brings back memories of Bud Kelley who provided candy at the Governor’s mansion at Halloween for all the little ghosts and goblins for years. I think everyone loved Bud. May he Rest In Peace.
We’ll be handing out Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. I’m concerned we may have more candy than trick or treaters this year. Darn.

It be really cool if this could be an everyday thing. Interesting fact about an employer, geographical, historical, state park, etc. I love learning new things about this State whether it is in Metropolis or Rockford.

For those interested, both Tootsie Roll and Mars Bars are among the few safe candies for kids with nut allergies. Neither have any nut or nut oils in the production process, and are not subject to contamination from other production lines in the facilities where they’re made.
Of course, parents should check all treats collected by children before consuming them.
