This just in…
Wednesday, Oct 16, 2013 - Posted by Rich Miller * 4:06 pm - The Illinois Supreme Court has ruled that it will accept a direct appeal of the circuit court ruling on the lawsuit against Gov. Pat Quinn’s legislative salary veto. The ruling can be seen by clicking here. * It’s gonna be a while before they get around to it, though…
Tybor is the Supreme Court spokesman.

Good news.
I hope the Supremes slam the door good on this, so no Governor, ever, thinks this is even close to acceptable.
I hope …

The beginning of the end for this Quinn stunt.

Good, good. Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.

I hope this idea gets slammed down for good.

March? LOVE it. Obviously they think it’s a pressing issue
- dupage dan - Wednesday, Oct 16, 13 @ 4:45 pm:
Can Quinn stop the checks again until March or is that door closed?
Can Quinn keep the state riveted to this issue until March?
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Oct 16, 13 @ 4:55 pm:
Well, if I am Pat Quinn, Glorious Leader, and I am not going to take my paycheck until March, a little advice;
Unplug the empty Fridge, you are wasting energy.
Ramen Noodles by the case are fairly cheap.
Water is healthier than soda/pop, and reused coffee grounds are all the rage in Europe.
Suits only need to be dry cleaned once a month unless soiled and not hung up.
I am sure Pat Quinn has stock piled soap, shampoo, and detergent from his frequent stays in hotels.
I am here to help, Glorious Leader. March…is a long while away …

Well, every meal can be a ‘campaign meal’, and what else does he actually need $$ for?
- Maxine - Wednesday, Oct 16, 13 @ 6:07 pm:
What the Gov doesn’t understand is that not everyone is rich or have a campaign fund. Union dues went up and we still haven’t gotten over 50% of the backwages owed to us. Ugh.

So, as predicted previously, it’ll be SEVERAL MONTHS before the High Court even gets around to hearing, let alone ruling on the matter…! And if Pat Quinn fails THIS time around–not an unlikely outcome legally–he could end-up being BRUTALized over it–by whoever the Republican Nominee for Governor is, for MONTHS then before next November…! What looked to be a boon for Quinn originally COULD end-up just HAMMERing him toward the end of/leading up to the Election!
Any way you look at it, the timing of the case now is potentially a BIG development politically in the race for Governor!
- Michelle Flaherty - Wednesday, Oct 16, 13 @ 7:36 pm:
I’d think that if the governor is sincere then he wouldn’t accept his salary until pension reform is in place and upheld by the courts.

March? Like in 2014? After the Super Bowl?
It’s good to be a judge.

Great point! What made Quinn look so good to the public right after he took their pay could end up costing him the same voters in the fall election if whoever wins the GOP nomination is marginally competent. Asking a lot, I know…

The court will take up the case in March? Seems to me they’ve given their decision…Hmmm, and just in time for the Primary perchance?
- Nonplussed - Thursday, Oct 17, 13 @ 9:32 am:
Yes Michelle. Make up the most insincere and inconsistent policy and demand the Gov abide by it.
